Ceilings, walls, floors, millwork, and specialty surfaces either read as one coordinated result or they expose every gap in sequencing, quality, and field leadership.
This role owns that result:
turning drawings and trade plans into spaces that meet the specification, hold the schedule, and stand up to owner walk-throughs. You will lead finish work where multiple trades share the same rooms, the same dates, and the same standard. Performance Objectives Sequence finish trades so interiors are released in a logical order and milestone areas are substantially complete on the agreed dates. Run daily field direction for drywall, ceilings, flooring, paint, millwork, and specialty finishes so crews, materials, and access stay aligned. Hold work to approved mockups, submittals, and specifications; stop nonconforming work before it spreads and close quality issues with documented rework. Drive punch lists from first walk to turnover so open items fall on a measured cadence and spaces are ready for owner acceptance.
Protect people and the work:
lead pre-task planning, enforce site safety rules, and keep finishes protected in occupied or active work zones. Resolve trade conflicts in the roomMEP, structure, and finishesbefore they become delay claims, and escalate only what cannot be fixed in the field. Report manpower, production, and constraints daily so project leadership can see risk early and adjust the plan. Environment & Resources You will report to the project superintendent or project manager and lead foremen, finish subcontractors, and craft supervision on a large civil or building project. You will work from current drawings, specifications, the master schedule, and field coordination tools, with support from project engineers, quality, and safety. Decisions on means, methods, and daily deployment sit with you; contract, cost, and client commitments sit with project leadership. Essential Qualifications 10 or more years supervising architectural finishes on complex commercial, institutional, transit, or infrastructure projects. Proven control of multi-trade finish sequences, including occupied or phased work, from rough-in release through punch and turnover. Ability to read finish drawings, specifications, and submittals and to judge field conditions against them. OSHA 30 (or equivalent) and a record of running safe, orderly finish operations. Clear direction of subcontractors and crews, including daily logs, constraint tracking, and shift handoffs. Working use of common field tools such as Bluebeam, Procore or similar, and Microsoft Office. Role Selling Points Field authority on high-profile work where finish quality is visible to the owner and the public. A full-service civil and building environment, not a single-trade shopcoordination is the job. Safety, integrity, and schedule treated as equal measures of performance. Room to lead people who build work that lasts, on projects that change how a community moves and lives. Call to Action If you can walk a floor and know what must happen tomorrow for the finishes to land right, apply. Bring the record of spaces you turned over clean, safe, and on time.
