Job Title:
Construction Superintendent Job Description The Construction Superintendent oversees all field-related activities on assigned construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role works closely with project management and other stakeholders to coordinate daily operations, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships with customers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors. Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day field operations on the construction site, including coordination of labor, materials, and equipment. Ensure strict adherence to jobsite safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel. Monitor project progress against the construction schedule and take proactive action to keep the project on time. Control field-related costs by monitoring labor, materials, and subcontractor performance to support budget objectives. Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control across all phases of construction. Work closely with the Project Manager to communicate field status, address challenges, and support overall project goals. Coordinate and oversee the work of subcontractors to ensure they meet project specifications, schedule, and quality requirements. Maintain effective, professional relationships with customers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the project. Identify and resolve field issues promptly, escalating matters to the Project Manager when necessary. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project specifications on the jobsite. Document relevant site activities and communicate key updates to the project team as needed. Essential Skills Proven experience in construction supervision or construction management, with responsibility for field operations. Strong knowledge of construction practices, methods, and sequencing for building projects. Experience working on federal construction projects or similar highly regulated environments. Thorough understanding of jobsite safety practices and regulations. Ability to interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications, and related documents. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project management, customers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors. Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities on site. Ability to monitor and support cost control, schedule adherence, and quality assurance in the field. OSHA 30 certification (OHSA30) or equivalent safety credential. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in construction management or a related field. Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors on complex projects. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders. Problem-solving skills to address field issues quickly and effectively. Detail-oriented approach to documentation, safety, and quality control. Work Environment This role is primarily based on active construction sites, requiring frequent presence in the field to oversee daily operations. The work environment involves exposure to typical construction conditions, including outdoor work, varying weather, noise, and active equipment. The Superintendent collaborates closely with the Project Manager and interacts regularly with customers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors on site. Appropriate safety gear and attire are required in accordance with OSHA 30 standards and company safety policies. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Pensacola, FL.
