JOB OVERVIEW

The OSP Field Supervisor is responsible for ensuring construction project activities comply with company and permit requirements. This role supports the overall project schedule by providing technical support for construction, including participation in planning, execution, quality control, and completion of work. The OSP Field Supervisor develops a working understanding of the business and project context to effectively support OSP placing crews and assists in ensuring project compliance with Wire 3s established Project Management Methodology (PMM) while upholding Wire 3s safety and quality management protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the primary liaison between the Regional Manager, Construction Manager, and QA/QC TechniciansContribute to the management of overall project performanceUnder guidance, assist in identifying potential stakeholder conflicts and facilitating resolutionCommunicate project risks to the Regional Manager as they arise and assist in developing appropriate risk mitigation stepsAssist in implementing project and program plans as assignedAssist and guide QA/QC Technicians on areas of completion and inspection-ready segments of constructionEffectively communicate within the assigned project populationResponsible for safe work practices and implementing company safety programs for all internal and subcontractor crews throughout area of responsibilityWork with local governing agencies and subcontractors to meet or exceed production goals as established in the fiscal year business planSupport the Utility Coordinator on the utility locate process to ensure a continuous workflow and mitigate downtime for OSP placing crewsProvide documentation, reports, and information to Regional Management as directedOversee the care of the equipment fleet under direction and coordinate maintenanceManage and control the use and application of tools utilized during the construction processUtilize established company tracking methods and systems to report crew productivity and weekly job progressOther duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple concurrent project activitiesEffective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across crews, subcontractors, and regional leadershipStrong understanding of OSP construction methods, fiber optic infrastructure, and field safety protocolsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, work orders, and project documentationKnowledge of NESC, OSHA, and applicable state and local codes

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

College degree or technical certification preferredPrevious experience managing projects in an OSP environment requiredPrevious oversight of contractors strongly preferredValid drivers license with a good driving record required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work performed in a combination of field and office environmentsMust be ambulatory on a variety of terrain, including outdoor job sitesAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as neededMust be able to work in varying weather conditions
