Role Description The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing on-site installation projects, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in all field operations. This role serves as the primary liaison between the field and office, working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Subcontractors to deliver high-quality audiovisual solutions. The Field Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and mentorship to field technicians while maintaining adherence to Baker AV standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise installation teams on job sites, ensuring work is completed on schedule and to Baker AV quality standards. Oversee and verify installation, termination, and testing of audiovisual cabling and equipment, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices. Conduct quality assurance checks throughout installation and integration phases to ensure project specifications are met. Serve as the main point of communication between field staff, project managers, and engineering teams. Develop punch lists for subcontractors and oversee timely resolution of deficiencies. Assist with rack building, lab testing, and system commissioning in the integration lab as needed. Troubleshoot technical issues in the field and escalate to engineering or project management when necessary. Prepare and submit Job Status Reports, documenting field conditions, project progress, and any issues encountered. Support small-scale service or "zip jobs" alongside other Field Supervisors as assigned. Ensure proper use and maintenance of company tools, vehicles, and safety equipment. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork on all job sites. Mentor and train junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and installation standards.
Qualifications Experience:
Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred. 3+ years of professional audiovisual installation experience. Strong working knowledge of audiovisual systems, cabling, and construction practices. Proven knowledge of installation best practices, safety standards, and QA/QC processes.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook Knowledge of SmartSheet and Bluebeam a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent client communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities. Customer-focused mindset with strong organizational skills. Certifications & Training (Preferred): AVIXA CTS or CTS‑I certification a plus OSHA certification preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, bend, and reach with hands and arms Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, or scaffolding when required Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to project sites when needed
