Superintendent

The Commercial Construction Superintendent is responsible for the on-site management, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects up to $30M. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and contract documents. Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily field operations from project start through closeout Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure efficient workflow Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules (short-term and long-term) Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and company safety programs Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control and compliance with plans/specifications Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, and Owners Lead subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and progress meetings Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays proactively Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and documentation Ensure proper sequencing of work and site logistics planning Oversee inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction Proven experience managing projects up to $30M Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and sequencing Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Experience with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) OSHA 30 certification preferred Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Core Competencies Leadership and team management Time management and organization Conflict resolution Attention to detail and quality control Strong understanding of safety practices Typical Project Types Office buildings Retail centers Healthcare facilities Industrial / warehouse projects Mixed-use developments Work Environment Primarily on active construction sites May require travel depending on project location Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically navigate job sites
