Position Specifics:
1) Deliver and support pre-developed camp programming for school-aged youth Attend all training sessions within first 2 weeks of service, demonstrating understanding of safety protocols, camper management, and program expectations Facilitate at least 2 pre-developed activities each week that align with camp themes based on instructions and materials provided Adapt at least 1 activity each week to meet the needs of campers with various abilities, interests, or group dynamics based on pre-camp training Ensure supplies are cleaned up and returned to proper storage areas after each use 2) Create original camp activities to enrich museum summer programming Attend training focused on activity design and facilitation within first two weeks of service. Research and develop at least 3 original camp activities aligned with museum themes (i.e., science, STEM, nature, history), labeling them by age group, activity type, group size, and instructions. Submit 3 activities to site supervisor by July 10. Implement all activities based on schedule developed by site supervisor. 3) Enhance camper transitions and downtime with supplemental activities Research and design at least 3 original downtime/transition activities (i.e., scavenger hunts, buddy activities, games like iSpy or emotion cards), organized by age group, activity type, and group size Submit 3 new activities to site supervisor by July 16 Implement approved activities during camp weeks as scheduled by site supervisor Create instruction cards for use by future AmeriCorps members and put in a shared folder 4) Develop and deliver attention grabbers to improve camp management Research and create 3 age-appropriate grabbers (i.e., rhythmic claps, rhyming chants, call-and-response tools), including details on group size, supplies, and implementation tips and submit to site supervisor Submit 1 attention grabber to the site supervisor by July 10 Implement approved attention grabbers as directed by site supervisor
