Including Your Career. At Boyd Jones, our Assistant Superintendents are developing field leaders who help turn the project plan into safe, coordinated, high-quality work in the field. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, follows through on commitments, and wants to grow into greater field leadership responsibility. You will work alongside experienced Superintendents, project teams, and trade partners while progressively taking ownership of project areas, scopes, and daily field operations. What You'll Be Accountable For Leading Safety in the Field. Support daily safety planning, pre-task discussions, field observations, and corrective-action follow-through. Reinforce safe work practices with trade partners and help maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site. Supporting Planning and Schedule Execution. Help develop and maintain short-term look-ahead plans that reflect actual field conditions. Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, access, inspections, and work sequencing so crews are prepared and commitments are met. Coordinating Daily Field Operations. Maintain a visible presence in the field. Conduct regular field walks, support daily huddles and subcontractor coordination meetings, answer questions, identify constraints, and communicate developing issues before they affect safety, quality, or schedule. Maintaining Quality and Preventing Rework. Verify installations against drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and Boyd Jones standards. Support pre-installation planning, QA/QC inspections, punch-list completion, and clean project turnover. Connecting the Field and Project Team. Review RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and other project information for field impacts. Work closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and Project Engineer to ensure decisions, changes, and commitments are clearly communicated and documented. Developing as a Field Leader. Take increasing ownership of assigned areas or scopes, build technical knowledge across trades, strengthen leadership skills, and contribute ideas that improve planning, workflow, communication, and project execution.
