Boise Hunter Homes is seeking an experienced Land Development Engineering Manager. This position is an opportunity of a lifetime, getting the chance to work on the most unique developments in Idaho! The Development Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing all civil engineering operations, including project delivery, team leadership, client relationships, and strategic growth . This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical expertise and business acumen. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of Idaho civil engineering standards , strong local industry/agency relationships, and an ability to drive past the "no's" and get projects to full Agency approval.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive all development objectives through civil design for full agency pre-plat approval Lead internal Engineering Department Engage and manage external engineering resources to include the negotiation of engineering contracts when necessary, with the ability to serve as the expert on contract language, budgets, timelines and approvals Constant communication with government officials and inspectors, consultants, subcontractors, survey, planning and political partners to remove any obstacles of project approval and drive timely results Contribute to big picture planning for lot delivery, timeline strategy, and performance goals Request proposals, prepare and solicit bids, negotiate, award and contract applicable contractors Develop, track, and update schedules routinely
Requirements & Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Idaho 10+ years of Civil Engineering experience for residential land development, extensive hillside grading and drainage experience is a huge plus Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency to drive projects to completion - (professional pressure is in your DNA) Strong understanding of local codes, standards, and permitting processes Local Agency (ACHD & Treasure Valley municipalities) and industry relationships are required Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D Prior experience leading or managing Civil Engineering teams Proven ability to manage projects, people, and priorities effectively Strong communication and performance driving skills Local Agency (ACHD & Treasure Valley municipalities) relationships are a plus Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering design plans and project specifications Ability to manage multiple projects, simultaneously. Ability to utilize spreadsheets and add, subtract, divide, and calculate percentages (e.g. grades, sewer flow, ADA, etc.) Self-Starter who wants to produce quality product, perform at a high level and understand big picture business strategy.
