Job Description

A reputable and growing commercial mechanical contractor is confidentially looking to add an experienced HVAC Project Manager to their team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-impact commercial mechanical projects across the Chicagoland market while working alongside an experienced leadership team. The ideal candidate is more than just a schedule manager. They understand the financial side of construction and know how to manage budgets, control costs, protect margins, oversee scope, and keep projects moving from initial award through successful closeout. 🔧 What You'll Do
  • Lead commercial HVAC/mechanical construction projects from award through completion
  • Take ownership of project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and cost-to-complete
  • Monitor project financials and proactively identify opportunities to protect margins
  • Manage contracts, scope, change orders, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and other stakeholders
  • Lead and participate in OAC meetings and project coordination efforts
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation through Procore
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety across all projects
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining accountability for financial performance, schedule, and overall execution 🎯 What We're Looking For
  • 3-7+ years of commercial HVAC or mechanical construction project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC/mechanical systems, plans, specifications, and contracts
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and overall project execution
  • Experience with forecasting, cost-to-complete reporting, and margin management
  • Proficiency with Procore or comparable construction management software
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Union mechanical construction experience is a plus
