Job Description
Summary:
This construction company with offices all over the country has heavy emphasis on work in the municipal, higher education, k-12 and JOC spaces. While they are a top ENR company, their regions work independently so you would not feel like a number. Specifically, this office is newer and there would be excellent growth opportunities. The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of municipal construction projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and extensive knowledge of municipal construction practices, regulations, and codes.Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight :
Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities for municipal projects, including roads, utilities, public buildings, parks, and other infrastructure.Schedule Management :
Develop, maintain, and execute detailed construction schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time.Subcontractor Coordination :
Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations on the job site.Quality Control :
Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, blueprints, municipal codes, and regulatory requirements.Safety Compliance :
Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the job site, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.Communication :
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, municipal officials, and inspectors. Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.Problem Solving :
Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, adjusting schedules and plans as necessary to minimize delays.Inspections :
Coordinate and prepare for municipal inspections, ensuring that all required documentation and work is ready for review.Budget Management :
Work with the Project Manager to monitor job costs and ensure projects stay within budget.Documentation :
Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and other project documentation as required by the company and the municipality.Qualifications:
10+ years of overall experience Ground-up project experience required Oversight of higher-ed, municipal, or k12 experience required Strong understanding of government regulations, building codes, and permitting processes. Proven ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project). Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively. Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety and labor laws.Benefits:
