At Goley Insulation, you're more than an employee — you're part of a team committed to building excellence together. The Firestop Superintendent leads the training, development, and daily oversight of our firestop technician group. This position is ideal for an experienced candidate ready to advance into a managerial role that combines field leadership with technical firestopping expertise. The Firestop Superintendent ensures our technicians develop the right skills to complete firestop projects on time, within budget, and to company standards — while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise daily firestop tasks, ensuring work meets company quality standards and project specifications. Be the primary lead for training our firestopping technicians including: Proper Job Preparation Discovery of UL systems, building them, and acquiring engineering judgements when necessary Use of tooling, equipment, and PPE When necessary manage team performance, delegate tasks, and provide coaching and mentorship to crew members. Conduct site firestop inspections to verify proper installation techniques, material usage, and adherence to building codes. Coordinate daily tasks, schedules, and materials with internal teams and our other firestopping superintendent Monitor project progress, proactively resolve issues, and report updates to management. Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations on all job sites. Assist in leading safety talks, toolbox talks, and be a champion of team safety efforts. Help with firestopping material handling and inventory control. Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, management, and team members to ensure project requirements and safety standards are met. Identify skills gaps and recommend additional training or support as needed. Attend and continuous sharpening of your own firestopping skills and industry standards Travel to multiple job sites as required, including possible overnight stays. Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of experience as a foreman or lead in firestopping installation, construction supervision, or a related field. Proven experience with hands-on installation of firestopping or insulation. Demonstrated leadership ability with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Solid understanding of commercial, multi-family, and residential construction practices. Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple crews and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel frequently and work overnight as required. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Proficiency with basic computer applications. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in field or warehouse environments as needed. Preferred Familiarity with insulation materials, application methods, and building codes. OSHA 10 or 30 certification. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Working Conditions The Superintendent may spend time at job sites, in the warehouse, or working in the office, depending on operational needs.
