Job Description

Tile Decor Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Field Supervisor to oversee remodeling and tile installation projects throughout the Chicagoland area. This is a role for someone who understands construction, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can keep projects moving without losing sight of the details. The Field Supervisor will coordinate jobsite activity, installers, subcontractors, materials, schedules, client communication, and project documentation. The right candidate should be comfortable visiting active jobsites, reviewing scope and site conditions, identifying issues early, documenting progress, and holding crews accountable to company standards. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day field activity on assigned tile installation and remodeling projects Coordinate installers, subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and project schedules Review project scope, plans, layouts, selections, materials, and site conditions before and during work Confirm jobsites are ready before crews are scheduled Perform jobsite inspections to verify quality, safety, cleanliness, and progress Monitor tile installation details including substrate conditions, waterproofing, layout, transitions, grout/caulk details, shower details, floor prep, and finish quality Create, manage, and follow up on punch list items Communicate clearly with clients, installers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal staff Document progress, issues, changes, photos, and updates in JobTread Track missing selections, material needs, site issues, schedule changes, and client decisions Identify potential change orders and communicate them before additional work proceeds whenever possible Help coordinate final walkthroughs and project closeout Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites Reinforce Tile Decor's standards for workmanship, professionalism, jobsite protection, and customer service Qualifications Experience in residential construction, remodeling, tile installation, field supervision, or project management Tile, bathroom remodeling, flooring, waterproofing, or finish trade experience strongly preferred Ability to read scopes of work, plans, layouts, selections, and basic construction documents Strong understanding of construction sequencing and jobsite coordination Excellent communication and follow-up skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to manage multiple active projects at different stages Comfortable using a phone, tablet, photos, email, and JobTread Valid driver's license Ability to travel to jobsites throughout the Chicagoland area Ability to work in active construction environments, including standing, walking, stairs, dust, noise, and occasional lifting Preferred Experience Residential remodeling or tile installation experience Experience supervising installers, subcontractors, or field crews Familiarity with JobTread or similar construction management software Knowledge of waterproofing systems, shower assemblies, heated floors, floor prep, and tile layout Experience managing punch lists, change orders, inspections, client walkthroughs, and project closeout Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is organized, practical, and detail-oriented. You notice problems before they become expensive. You communicate clearly, follow through, and understand that quality work depends on planning, documentation, and accountability. You do not need to know everything, but you do need to ask the right questions, document what matters, and make sure nothing gets lost between the office, client, crew, and jobsite. Work Environment This is a hybrid office (based in Elk Grove Village) and field position, with regular travel to jobsites throughout the Chicagoland area. Jobsites are active construction environments and may involve dust, noise, tools, building materials, stairs, and ladders. Schedule Full-time position. Schedule may vary based on project needs, jobsite activity, deliveries, inspections, and client appointments. Compensation Compensation based on experience.
