This role is responsible for managing projects from initial planning and scoping through completion while maintaining a strong presence in the field. The ideal candidate is a builder and problem solver who is equally comfortable coordinating teams, managing timelines, ordering materials, and stepping in to help complete work when needed. This is not a desk-only project management role. Some days may involve swinging a hammer, assembling materials, troubleshooting field conditions, or completing punch-list items. Other days may focus on coordinating contractors, managing schedules, sourcing materials, and ensuring projects stay on track. Key Responsibilities Scope and plan construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. Develop project budgets, timelines, and material requirements. Coordinate and manage an in-house construction team across multiple projects. Schedule, direct, and oversee outside contractors and specialty vendors as needed. Order materials, equipment, and supplies while managing project costs. Hold teams accountable to project schedules, deadlines, and quality standards. Identify and resolve project challenges before they impact timelines or budgets. Assist with project execution, field work, punch lists, installations, repairs, and other hands-on tasks when needed. Maintain organized project documentation, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate inspections, permits, and project closeout activities. Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. Qualifications 5+ years of construction, facilities, renovation, or project management experience. Strong understanding of construction methods, tools, materials, and building systems. Experience leading teams and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to read plans, specifications, and construction documents. Experience managing budgets, purchasing materials, and scheduling work. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability. Comfortable working both in the field and in a project management capacity. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Chicago area and Wisconsin. Preferred Experience Commercial construction Clubhouse, hospitality, or recreation facility renovations Restaurant or retail build-outs Facilities maintenance and capital projects Managing both in-house teams and subcontractors What Success Looks Like Projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
