- Career advancement opportunites Job Overview Maintain healthy relationships with architects, designers, contractors, consultants and any other internal or external customers or providers of service to Deaconess Health System.
Develop external resources (architects, designers, contractors, and consultants) and ensure they are performing to the hospital standards while performing and bringing innovative ideas for a more efficient project. Complies with Standards of Employee Conduct. Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees, architects, designers, contractors, and consultants Assist in preparing and filing out reports with government and regulatory authorities. Manage the Capital Construction team/department with an annual budget in excess of $100M. Responsible to oversee and assign projects to Project Managers and Senior Project Managers and provide assistance where needed as well as manage projects. Responsible to take projects from planning through completion including new construction, building renovations, major equipment installations, upgrading or modification of the facility's systems, building or components including coordination of shutdown of utilities. Review scope and evaluate the best delivery method of the project to ensure a cost effective, timely schedule, and quality project. Work with the E&M department to develop standards to allow for efficiencies Ensure all standards are met with outside agencies, such as insurance firms, ADA, EPA, OSHA, IDEM, ISDH, NFPA, ACHA, TJC. Responsible to develop and maintain policy and procedures for new construction, renovation and improvement projects. Develop and maintain Owner Architect and Owner Contractor Contract and Fee Schedules. Update yearly or as needed to maintain requirements. Manage the Architect and Project Managers to develop clear and concise estimates for construction requests, including accurate work scope descriptions and estimates of cost including recommendations for alternate means of problem solutions for presentations to the Health System Capital Team and Board of directors. Overseeing the development of project design to meet stated objectives; insures the design process is conducted efficiently and with an acceptable timeframe. Manage the communication between parties including architects, engineers, designers, consultants, physicians and numerous Deaconess Health System Administrators, Directors and Managers to see that all areas are represented in the design process. Ensure proper sign off at the completion of each stage of the design process. Reviews plans, specifications, drawings, etc. to be used for equipment/system modifications, installations, renovations and new construction projects with end users. Ensure they meet Deaconess Health System standards for the application they are being applied. Responsible to make decisions in a timely manner and monitor project cost to insure they are within the approved budget. Monitor all project expenses for large equipment, construction, design, change orders, project scope changes, incurred by project to ensure the project remains within budget. Financial management
- Review, approve, assign project code and process for payment Applications and Certificate for Payment request from Contractors and invoices for complete work and issue POs.
Performs all duties with dedication to the highest level of customer service for the end user. Acts as the owner's representative for Deaconess Health System and is the contact person for the Health System with architects, engineers, and contractors related to construction activities. At Closeout see that proper documentation is received and passed to the Facilities. Maintain a digital system of drawings of each facility and project. Develop and maintain comprehensive drawings and closeout documents for future efficiencies. Develop standards to gain efficiencies across the Health System.
