Job Description
•McPherson Backhoe Inc. is an EEO, Equal Opportunity Employer•We are looking for a Civil/Utility Foreman to join our team! As a Civil/Utility Foreman, your main responsibility will be to manage and coordinate Municipal projects and civil construction projects with the ability to read and understand prints. You will be a key person for leading the staff towards the completion of a project, supporting them and assisting them. Working closely with management to train and recruit workers and monitor their performance. Foreman will work closely with our Operations Manager and customers to ensure all goals and tasks and completed in a timely fashion and customer satisfaction is met. Pay will be based on experience. Qualifications/ Responsibilities Operate and maintain various types of equipment: including but not limited to Excavator, Backhoe, Motor Grader, Dozer, Scraper, Loader and Skid Steer. Troubleshoot and repair infield equipment issues Good computer skills Experience working in safety sensitive environment involving active pipelines Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, permits, specifications, estimates and time requirements Ability to read, understand and shoot grades and elevations Able to understand construction scheduling and cost management Responsible for managing on-site daily operations Responsible for managing a crew of 4 to 10 employees Coordinate with project managers, customers, engineers and subcontractors Good Verbal skills is a prerequisite, conduct daily tailgate meetings Organization is expected Leadership skills - Mentor and train new employees Self motivation is key Follow and enforce company safety requirements Willing to respond to emergencies at all times Working outside in all weather conditions is essential Must have valid driver's license (CDL class A preferred) Willingness to travel, able to work overtime and weekends as needed Applicant must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check and provide a valid driver license, willing to adhere to all company policies and procedures
