Job Title:

Construction Project Manager Job Description The Construction Project Manager leads multiple ground-up and renovation capital projects, typically ranging from $2M to $30M+, across various manufacturing facilities. This role requires a seasoned professional who takes strong ownership, exercises sound judgment, and applies a hands-on approach to safely deliver high-quality work. The Construction Project Manager drives projects from concept through closeout, partners closely with architectural and engineering firms, and consistently promotes a culture of respect for people and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

+ Lead ground-up and renovation capital projects from initial concept through construction closeout, typically ranging from $2M to $30M+ in value.

+ Conduct feasibility studies and due diligence, collaborating with architectural and engineering (AE) firms to develop designs and construction documents.

+ Drive design development activities, including construction documents, page-turn reviews, and design-quality assessments to ensure alignment with project objectives.

+ Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project, ensuring accurate timelines and critical path tracking.

+ Manage project budgets and forecasts in Procore, and prepare executive-level status reports and presentations that clearly communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans.

+ Lead competitive bidding and procurement processes for architectural, engineering, and general contractor services, including scope definition and award recommendations.

+ Define owner project criteria and detailed scopes of work for AE and construction services to ensure clarity of expectations and deliverables.

+ Monitor contractor performance against cost, schedule, safety, and quality commitments, attending jobsite meetings and coordinating consultant site visits as needed.

+ Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design intent and specifications, and coordinate timely responses to contractor requests for information.

+ Validate contractor payment applications against actual work progress and contract terms to ensure accurate and fair compensation.

+ Coordinate multiple project priorities and lead construction coordinators, regularly walking jobsites to identify and resolve field constraints and issues.

+ Engage IT, AV, Security, operations, and plant partners to gather design input, align decisions, and integrate facility requirements into project plans.

+ Manage project changes, mitigate scope creep, and advance value-adding changes with transparent communication of cost, schedule, quality, and safety impacts.

+ Oversee contractor quality-control programs and enforce safety documentation, procedures, and expectations throughout all phases of construction.

+ Resolve field issues promptly, maintaining high standards of construction quality and adherence to safety protocols.

+ Provide leadership to project engineers, contractors, consultants, and safety personnel while managing multiple concurrent projects.

+ Coordinate project scheduling activities and ensure effective project engineering and construction management practices are consistently applied. Essential Skills

+ Eight or more years of construction project management experience delivering ground-up and complex capital projects valued from approximately $2M to $30M+.

+ Demonstrated experience leading design development from concept through construction documents, including feasibility studies, due diligence, bidding, and procurement.

+ Strong technical knowledge of design and construction engineering, schedule management, shop drawings, submittals, and construction quality control.

+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project for schedule development and management.

+ Advanced proficiency with Procore for budgeting, forecasting, and project reporting.

+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, budgeting, and project tracking.

+ Experience using Bluebeam for document markups and design review.

+ Proven ability to prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and status reports.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead project engineers, contractors, consultants, and safety personnel across multiple concurrent projects.

+ Experience delivering light-industrial, warehouse, office, automotive, or comparable manufacturing-facility construction projects.

+ Proven stakeholder-management skills, including clear communication, effective problem-solving, and strong change-management capabilities.

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

+ Strong commitment to safe work practices, high-quality design and construction, respect for people, and continuous improvement.

+ PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

+ OSHA certification and extensive experience preparing safety documentation and enforcing safety standards.

+ Experience in manufacturing or automotive-facility construction environments.

+ Background in construction management, engineering, project coordination, and commercial construction.

+ Experience working with general contractors and managing capital projects.

+ Ability to work effectively in a hands-on project management and project engineering capacity. Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with mechanical systems in a construction or industrial environment.

+ Familiarity with AutoCAD for reviewing and understanding design drawings.

+ Background in commercial construction and capital project delivery.

+ Experience in construction management and project coordination across multiple stakeholders.

+ Strong project scheduling skills, including coordination of multiple trades and phases of work.

+ Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with support teams and vendor management systems.

+ Interest in long-term, stable project work with extensive planned capital projects.

+ Motivation to continuously learn within complex manufacturing and engineering environments. Work Environment This role is 100% onsite and involves working directly within manufacturing and related facility environments. The Construction Project Manager can expect approximately 50% travel across the United States to visit various project sites, attend job meetings, and coordinate with local teams. The position may require around 20% overtime, particularly during critical project phases, and overtime hours worked over 40 per week are compensated at time and a half. The work setting is focused on safety, quality, and collaboration, with access to modern construction management tools such as Microsoft Project, Procore, and Bluebeam. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
