Administrative/Staff Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach courses in construction related programs, such as NCCER Construction Craft Laborer, Construction Site Safety, Core, etc.
- Facilitate both classroom-based learning and hands-on lab instruction, ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
- Evaluate student performance through written and performance-based assessments in accordance with NCCER standards and other accrediting agencies.
- Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications
- Collaborate with employers to facilitate internships, apprenticeships, and job placements.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and integrate them into course content while utilizing instructional best practices
- Ensure compliance with state and federal workforce training standards.
- Maintain accurate student records (attendance, grades, and certifications) and report outcomes to funding agencies and workforce partners.
- Foster a positive, engaging, and respectful learning environment.
- Collaborate with program staff to support student success, program development, and continuous improvement.
- Perform administrative, mentorship, or support duties among other roles as needed to ensure the success of the training program and organization.
Required Education:
- Minimum 8 years of verifiable experience in construction or a related skilled trade.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain the following credentials o NCCER Certified Craft Instructor (CCI) credentials o
OSHA 510/500
Outreach Trainer certification. o NSC Lift Truck Instructor certification. o AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructor certification.
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety, materials handling, concrete placement, trenching, demolition, and other laborer skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging instruction to diverse learners.
- Strong communication, organizational, computer, and classroom management skills.
- Strong hands-on technical skills and ability to train students in real-world applications.
- Ability to work with diverse learners, including adult education and workforce development students.
