Job Description

Role Summary The Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end project execution with strict adherence to cost structure, contribution margin, and operational discipline. This is not a coordination role — this is a financially accountable operator role responsible for ensuring every project: Meets or exceeds defined margin thresholds Follows structured cost controls Contributes to overhead absorption and enterprise stability Core Responsibilities 1. Financial & Margin Accountability Own full project P&L from award through closeout Ensure all projects are executed within approved cost structure and margin targets Track labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and equipment against budget in real time Identify and escalate margin erosion risks immediately Enforce change order discipline to protect profitability 2. Job Costing & Cost Control Maintain accurate, real-time job costing for every project Validate that all labor rates are fully burdened and consistently applied Ensure all project spending follows PO-based purchasing processes Prevent unauthorized or non-policy expenditures Reconcile estimated vs. actual costs weekly 3. Project Execution & Delivery Manage project schedules, resources, and field coordination Oversee fabrication, delivery, and installation workflows Coordinate with field crews, shop teams, and subcontractors Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within cost constraints Field measure to ensure alignment with shop drawing prior to fabrication Track, coordinate project revisions and submittals Coordinate and adjust shop drawings and assure they align with contract documents 4. Operational Discipline & Systems Enforcement Operate within defined company systems, not informal processes Enforce structured workflows, reporting cadence, and accountability standards Participate in weekly KPI and project performance reviews Maintain clean documentation across all project phases 5. Risk Management & Decision Making Evaluate all project decisions through: o Margin protection o Cost control o Operational efficiency Escalate risks that impact profitability, schedule, or execution Reject or challenge decisions that compromise financial performance 6. Communication & Stakeholder Management Serve as primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams Provide clear, structured project updates (schedule, cost, risks) Align field execution with office-based financial controls 7. Safety & Compliance Leadership (Zero Tolerance Standard) Enforce all OSHA regulations and company safety standards without exception Maintain a zero-compromise safety culture across field and shop operations Proactively identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and behaviors Ensure all crews, subcontractors, and vendors are compliant before and during execution Stop work immediately if safety is compromised Safety is not a checklist — it is an operational requirement. Unsafe jobs become unprofitable jobs. 8.
Decision-Making Standard Every decision must:
Protect contribution margin Improve cost predictability Maintain safe working conditions Reduce operational chaos Strengthen long-term performance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Project gross margin vs. target Budget adherence (labor, material, subs) Change order capture rate Schedule performance Cost variance (estimated vs. actual) Contribution to overhead absorption Required Qualifications 5-10+ years project management experience in construction, steel, or related trades Strong understanding of job costing, budgeting, and cost control Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience with fabrication and field installation coordination High level of accountability and ownership mindset Preferred Qualifications Experience in steel fabrication and erection Familiarity with margin-based project management environments Experience implementing or working within structured operational systems What Success Looks Like Projects consistently meet or exceed margin targets Cost overruns are proactively identified and corrected Execution follows structured systems, not reactive decision-making Clear, data-driven visibility exists across all active projects Cultural Fit This role is for someone who: Thrives in structured, accountable environments Is comfortable with financial transparency and performance measurement Values discipline over chaos Can balance field execution with financial rigor Note this is not open for third party agent/s.
