Part-time Position Summary:
The YMCA of Greater Boston is dedicated to improving the health of mind, body, and spirit of individuals and families in our communities. We provide welcoming, belonging, and opportunity for all. We are a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) sponsor of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Through SFSP, we provide meals to young people all summer long by partnering with community organizations throughout the city. To assist us in meeting our mission and goals, we are seeking a Summer Food Monitor to join our team. This is a part-time position.Qualifications and Experience:
- Car recommended - requires a lot of travel to sites.
- Must be motivated, energetic, punctual, responsible, and exhibit a positive attitude to be an excellent role model for children and staff members.
- Attentive to detail and able to work independently.
- Ability to lead, teach/train, and interact with parents, staff, children, and the community.

The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Compensation:
- $20/hour Essential Responsibilities The Summer Food Monitor is responsible for building relationships with community partners, monitoring sites, and supporting partners to maintain compliance for our Summer Food Service Program.
Administration & Management:
- Serve as point of contact for designated sites
- Conduct weekly monitoring visits and reviews at SFSP sites regularly. Communicate with site supervisors to conduct reviews and provide feedback.
- Generate reports to summarize monitoring visits and reviews.
- Provide technical assistance to support SFSP partner sites to ensure they remain compliant and are meeting program protocols.
- Oversee compliance protocols and procedures following DESE guidelines. Includes collecting meal counts, required documentation from sites, cross-referencing site information, etc.
- Maintenance of open, effective communication and interaction among the programs and partners; engagement of parents/families.
- Support site-level use of MyFoodProgram platform, including but not limited to: ensuring accuracy of meal counts, reconciling portal entries with site paperwork, and providing assistance as necessary.
- Communicate all site-level updates to Program Manager of Sponsored Meals in a timely manner
- Participate in daily team calls and weekly 1:1 supervision check-ins with Program Manager of Sponsored Meals
- Performance of other duties as requested by YMCA supervisor.
