ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Project Manager role is responsible for in assisting the PM in the successful planning, coordination and execution of projects from mobilization through completion.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt effectively in fast-paced environments. Strong organizational skills with experience managing construction project schedules, communications, documentation, and administrative tasks. Demonstrated commitment to interacting with integrity, compassion and professionalism. Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance multiple requests and deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and clients. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical plans and construction drawings. Proficiency in Procore, CAD, and Adobe.
EXPECTATIONS
Attend internal project turnover meetings to collect the information needed for successful project execution. Maintain, update, and understand all contract documents, utility work orders, plans, specifications, schedules, submittals, and shop drawings. Pull required permits and coordinate permit-related documentation for assigned projects. Develop proficiency in reviewing drawings, specifications, and preparing detailed change orders with assigned material and labor values. Prepare and manage internal communications with project managers and field staff. Travel to project sites as needed. Create and maintain submittals, project logs, RFIs, permits, as-built documents, shipping schedules, and other required administrative records. Manage job closeout procedures, including warranty documents, as-builts, final inspections, and related requirements.
