Help Create a Place Where Students Feel Seen, Supported, and Encouraged
At SOWMA, we believe every student deserves consistent support, meaningful relationships, and access to opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. Through community-based tutoring programs across Greater Boston, the South Shore, and Southeastern Massachusetts, we support students and families experiencing homelessness and poverty by creating welcoming spaces where young people can build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and experience a sense of belonging.
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and community-minded Site Coordinators to help lead our tutoring sites in New Bedford. More than a coordination role, this position is an opportunity to be a trusted and caring presence in the lives of students while supporting volunteers, families, and community partners in creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
This role is ideal for someone who values relationship-building, enjoys working with youth, and wants to make a direct impact in their community through meaningful, mission-driven work.

- The ability to create welcoming and inclusive environments
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfort working independently in a dynamic environment
- A genuine interest in youth development, mentorship, service, or community engagement
Experience in tutoring, mentoring, education, after-school programs, social services, volunteer coordination, or nonprofit work is helpful, but candidates with transferable experience and a strong connection to the mission are encouraged to apply.
