Role Overview The Assistant Project Manager leads projects from pre-construction through final completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role serves as the central point of coordination between clients, architects, designers, and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Construction Develop, track, and communicate project timelines and budgets Manage permitting submissions, coordinate requirements, and act as liaison with local agencies
Project Coordination & Execution:
Oversee daily project execution, coordinating with the construction supervisor to ensure schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met. Facilitate communication among clients , architects, designers, and trade partners Lead weekly or bi-weekly project meetings, track action items, and ensure alignment Maintain organized project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders, shop drawings) Identify and manage long-lead materials and procurement schedules Review subcontractor invoices and manage project financials Provide proactive progress updates to clients and internal stakeholders with discretion and professionalism
Client & Team Leadership:
Serve as the primary point of contact from pre-construction through project closeout Manage client expectations to ensure a positive and transparent experience Proactively identify and resolve construction issues Oversee project profitability by managing budgets, trade contracts, and scope changes Conduct detailed site inspections to ensure compliance with architectural plans, specifications, and building codes What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with experience in high-end residential construction and a strong commitment to quality.
Qualifications include:
2 years of project management experience in custom residential or commercial construction Background in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience Strong understanding of high-end building methods, materials, and processes Ability to read and interpret multi-phase construction drawings Excellent organizational, communication skills Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate multiple trades Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and cost control Proficiency in Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Excel Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities What We Offer Competitive Salary (commensurate with experience) Professional Development opportunities, including training and certifications Supportive, Collaborative Work Environment focused on quality, accountability, and long-term relationships
