Job Description

SCENIC CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR
Boston College Theatre Department is seeking a part-time
SCENIC CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR 2026-2027
Academic year appointment (end August -beginning May) 12-29 hours per week as scheduled.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide training, supervision and mentorship for student employees and those enrolled in the Scene Construction/Paint Prep Lab.
  • Will oversee, in coordination with the Production Manager, the construction and rigging of scenic elements for Theatre Departments productions.
  • Provide instruction in building crafts, technical skills and safety practices.
  • Manage the procurement and maintenance of all scenery supplies and equipment and should be able to instruct students in a variety of skills in advanced scenery construction in coordination with the Production Manager.
Any other tasks as given by the Production Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
College degree OR equivalent and three to five years of related experience. Student shop supervision experience preferred.
COMPENSATION
$32-35 per hour based on experience.
W-2 SCHEDULE
Flexible Schedule based on the needs of the theatre. 12-29 Hrs. (possibly more) per week for 9 months. Applicants, please email me directly at - patinojo@bc.edu
