  • Full-time Our client, a Springfield, MA based construction firm who works with the government is looking for a Construction Project Manager on a direct hire basis to lead the daily management and execution of construction projects of varying sizes and scopes.
This role includes responsibility for safety, quality, cost, scheduling, and overall project performance to ensure timely and budget-compliant completions.
Responsibilities:
Lead by example by upholding the company's Safety Program in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including all subcontractors. Assist in developing project-specific safety plans with the Safety Department. Maintain current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and OSHA. Provide guidance during pre-construction, including cost estimates, scopes of work, schedules, and project submittals. Negotiate subcontract agreements, manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, and change orders, and oversee contract closeout. Develop and update detailed schedules in a timely manner aligned with project progress. Prepare, track, and control construction schedules, material status logs, and associated costs to ensure on-time and on-budget completion. Lead and prepare change proposals; negotiate, execute, and issue change orders; and prepare budget revisions as needed. Lead project meetings—internal or client-facing—by preparing agendas, documenting meetings, and distributing notes to stakeholders and management. Conduct thorough reviews of submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs in coordination with contract documents. Oversee project closeout, including checklists, punch lists, and final documentation. Ensure project imagery is captured and properly uploaded to the Project Management software. Collaborate with the On-Site Superintendent to direct and support all construction activities throughout the life of the project. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and subcontractors regarding progress, challenges, and project impacts. Mentor junior professionals by reviewing work, enhancing technical skills, and supporting professional growth. Demonstrate a proactive attitude, emphasizing urgency and accountability in all project matters.
