POSITION DESCRIPTION
Established in 2001, Landscaping by Greenscape is a union affiliated landscape development company that serves most of the New England area. We are a team of professionals who strive to deliver the highest quality landscape projects, both on time and on budget. Working with leading developers, contractors, owners, and landscape architects, we are committed to producing a product that is not only beautiful, but responsible and sustainable. As we continue to grow, we are currently searching for an experienced Area Superintendent to join our Team. Conveniently located just off Rte. 24 in Taunton, MA, our focus is urban commercial landscape projects centered in Boston and surrounding communities.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS
Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple medium to large scale Landscape Development projects ranging in size from $250k - $3million +
  • Work with the Project Manager, field staff, and subcontractors to execute project construction according to contract specifications, on budget, according to schedule, and with a high standard of quality and safety.
  • Create and manage daily project schedules, productivity, and budget reporting,
  • Ensure timely and accurate daily labor entries and work in place reporting.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the General Contractors, Superintendents, and field staff.
  • Daily travel to and from multiples sites and the main office.
Candidate must be able to manage responsibilities while performing duties in a mobile capacity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management a plus.
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • 5-7 years' experience in general construction, landscape construction experience preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience supervising construction projects required.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to encourage co-workers.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to set priorities effectively and exercise flexibility where necessary.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Understanding of proper safety procedures and recognition of hazards.
  • Outstanding verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage others.
  • Results oriented and deadline management driven.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate extended needs of the business, as may be required.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Committed to customer service and satisfaction.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese) a plus.
