Job Description

McGuire + Co. Kitchen & Bath and Top Notch Builders Construction, Inc. are seeking an experienced Project Consultant - Residential Remodeling to join our design-build team. Position Summary As a Project Consultant, you will act as the primary bridge between homeowners and our production team. You'll guide clients through the initial sales, design development, material selection, and estimating phases, ensuring every residential remodeling project moves smoothly from concept to contract. This is a client-facing, consultative role requiring a strong understanding of residential remodeling, construction, design, budgeting, and the overall design-build process.
Key Responsibilities Client Consultation & Sales:
Qualify inbound leads, conduct in-home consultations, discover client needs, and present design-build solutions.
Design & Scope Development:
Collaborate with clients to establish project goals, conceptual layouts, and realistic design scopes for kitchens, baths, additions, basements, whole-home renovations, and other residential remodeling projects.
Estimating & Job Costing:
Develop detailed scope-of-work documents, project budgets, and accurate estimates using company pricing models and software; request bids from subcontractors and coordinate subcontractor site walk-throughs as needed.
Selections & Allowances:
Guide clients through finish selections, including cabinetry, tile, fixtures, countertops, and other materials, manage allowances, and finalize project specifications.
Contract Execution:
Draft and present design agreements, construction contracts, and change orders.
Pre-Construction Hand-Off:
Partner with the Production Manager, subcontractors, and Lead Carpenters during site walk-throughs to ensure seamless project handoffs.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
5+ years in residential remodeling sales, estimating, project management, or residential design-build sales.
Industry Knowledge:
Solid understanding of residential construction methods, building codes, cabinet lines, windows, doors, and finish materials.
Technical Proficiency:
Comfort using construction management software such as Buildertrend or CoConstruct and standard estimating tools.
Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and written communication skills.
Organization:
Strong time-management skills with the ability to run multiple prospective projects simultaneously.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary :
$80,000 per year. Commission /
Earnings Potential :
$125,000 total target compensation, including base salary and commission.
