Job Description
Field Superintendent
A leading commercial construction company is seeking an experienced Construction Field Superintendent to oversee projects throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan Area, Montgomery County, and Frederick County, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional to join a well-established contractor known for delivering high-quality commercial and industrial projects.
As the Field Superintendent, you will manage day-to-day job site operations, supervise field personnel and subcontractors, maintain project schedules, ensure quality workmanship, and promote a strong culture of safety. You will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, owners, inspectors, and trade partners to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget

- Key Responsibilities
- Direct all daily field operations on commercial construction projects from mobilization through project completion.
- Coordinate and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment deliveries.
- Partner with Project Managers, engineers, architects, owners, and consultants to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules while meeting project milestones.
- Monitor labor productivity, material usage, equipment utilization, and project performance.
- Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies while promoting a safe work environment.
- Perform routine quality control inspections to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Schedule and coordinate inspections with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate daily construction reports documenting manpower, progress, weather conditions, inspections, and field issues.
- Resolve construction challenges by applying sound knowledge of commercial building methods and process equipment installation.
- Maintain project schedules and support cost-control efforts throughout the construction process.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal project teams
- -Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, Field Superintendent, or similar leadership role within commercial construction.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices, building systems, and process equipment installation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple subcontractors and field crews while managing competing priorities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of construction scheduling, quality assurance, and job site safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $5 million or more is strongly preferred.
- Experience with both ground-up construction and renovation projects required; historic restoration experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project).
- Experience with construction management software such as Sage Timberline, Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), E-Builder, Vela, or similar platforms is preferred
