TRAVELING ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT
in Sterling Heights, MI. The Traveling Electrical Superintendent oversees all field labor, coordination, materials, and production for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects across North America. This role provides technical leadership to General Foremen and Foremen while collaborating closely with Project Managers, Regional Superintendents, and General Contractors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with NEC and applicable codes. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 10 years of superintendent-level experience, a current IBEW Journeyman Inside Wireman card in good standing, and a proven track record of managing field crews on complex electrical construction projects.

Responsibilities:
Supervise all field production activities and assist General Foremen and Foremen in planning jobs, ordering materials and tools, and managing manpower allocation. Collaborate with Project Managers, Regional Superintendents, and the Director of Field Operations to establish project goals and monitor ongoing progress throughout each project's duration. Review and monitor labor efficiencies, hours, ratios, and project labor needs, maintaining an accurate labor tracking log for each project. Monitor and enforce compliance with NEC, federal, state, county, and local codes, contract documents, and company installation standards. Prepare, review, distribute, and maintain required installation documentation and ensure complete, accurate as-builts are developed and submitted. Track and monitor material costs, storage, consumption, and orders to minimize costs and prevent budget overruns. Communicate effectively with project owners, architects, general contractors, management, and crew members to maintain alignment on project status and requirements. Ensure proper safety equipment, materials, and tools are on-site and enforce compliance with all company, state, and federal safety policies and procedures. Adhere to project contract document changes and company change order policies throughout all phases of construction.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Electrical Superintendent, plus 3 to 5 additional years as a General Foreman or in a comparable electrical construction leadership role. Current IBEW Journeyman Inside Wireman card in good standing, or demonstrated willingness and ability to join the IBEW. Must hold a current Journeyman Wireman license where required by the applicable state, city, or county jurisdiction. Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, single-line blueprints, and NFPA codes. Demonstrated track record of successful project leadership, including direct management of General Foremen and Foremen on commercial or industrial projects. Strong knowledge of power systems installation, including lighting, fire protection, security, and data networks, as well as control panels and electrical apparatus troubleshooting. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook), Bluebeam, and Autodesk products. Proven ability to order and track materials and tools, perform cost projections, and develop as-builts. Willingness to travel and work on projects throughout North America on a Monday through Friday schedule. Must pass a 10-panel rapid drug screen.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull up to 50 lbs of force. Ability to climb ladders and work off ladders, man lifts, or reach booms. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires. Ability to work in diverse weather conditions including cold, snow, rain, and heat. Ability to work in high-noise environments with appropriate PPE.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $124,800 to $145,600 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
