Field Superintendent - Commercial & Residential Construction Northwestern Minnesota | Full-time | On-site, Monday-Friday About the Opportunity NOVON Consulting is partnering with a well-established Minnesota construction company to hire an experienced Field Superintendent . This full-time, on-site position supports residential, commercial, agricultural, and equestrian construction projects throughout northwestern Minnesota. In this hands-on leadership role, you will direct daily field operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, manage schedules, and maintain high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and jobsite organization. The ideal candidate is a proactive construction leader who can anticipate issues, communicate clearly, and keep multiple projects moving on time and within budget. What You'll Do
  • Lead day-to-day field production across multiple active construction projects, coordinating in-house crews, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and site logistics.
  • Review scopes of work, plans, and specifications to understand the complete project scope and quickly communicate missing details, conflicts, or potential schedule and cost impacts.
  • Conduct pre-build and pre-construction meetings for every project using all required checklists.
  • Create and maintain project schedules and Gantt charts from start to finish, including all scopes of work, milestones, inspections, and subcontractor activities.
  • Monitor labor hours, jobsite readiness, and subcontractor performance to maximize productivity and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Complete Buildertrend daily logs with accurate updates and jobsite photos for every active project.
  • Provide subcontractors with 72-hour start notices by phone and email; schedule and verify required inspections.
  • Enforce PPE requirements, lead regular jobsite safety meetings, and maintain clean, organized, and safe worksites.
  • Maintain strict quality control, complete punch-list work and final customer walkthroughs, and contribute to subcontractor performance evaluations.
  • Manage inventory and equipment checklists, verify equipment condition, and use correct coding on purchase orders.
  • Notify the Project Coordinator or Project Manager immediately of changes that could affect scope, schedule, quality, or cost.
  • Support field operations as needed, including covering for absent personnel, completing punch-list items, and mobilizing equipment.
  • Report to the assigned jobsite or office by 7:00 a.m. each workday and keep a tool belt and basic hand tools available for immediate use. What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience supervising commercial and/or residential construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, quality control, safety practices, and cost controls.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, field crews, inspections, materials, and equipment across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with Buildertrend or similar construction project management software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read plans and specifications, identify field issues, and communicate solutions promptly.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, craftsmanship, accountability, and professional customer service. Schedule, Pay & Benefits
Pay:
$90,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience
    Schedule:
    Full-time, on-site, Monday-Friday; daily start by 7:00 a.m.
