  • Mechanical & Construction (HVAC, Piping, Plumbing) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale mechanical and construction projects with a focus on HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
The ideal candidate will manage all phases of project delivery from planning and design coordination through procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, proven leadership, and excellent stakeholder communication skills. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end project delivery for mechanical and construction projects including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems. Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations; track milestones and maintain schedule control. Coordinate design reviews and integrate engineering design, shop drawings, and as-built documentation with construction activities. Oversee procurement and subcontractor selection; manage contracts, change orders, and commercial negotiations. Provide onsite construction leadership and supervision; ensure work complies with specifications, codes, and quality standards. Manage risk identification and mitigation, implement corrective actions, and resolve technical or schedule issues promptly. Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements; lead toolbox talks and site safety initiatives. Communicate regularly with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and internal teams; prepare progress reports and present project status to senior management. Implement quality assurance and quality control processes; review testing, commissioning, and start-up activities to confirm performance requirements are met. Mentor and develop project team members; lead cross-functional coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered. Minimum 7 years of progressive project management experience in mechanical construction, with direct experience in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems. Proven track record managing medium to large projects ($ multi-million) from planning through closeout. Strong knowledge of mechanical design and construction practices, codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC) and MEP coordination. Proficiency with project management and design software such as MS Project or Primavera, AutoCAD/Revit, and Microsoft Office. Excellent financial acumen with experience preparing budgets, cost forecasts, and managing commercial change orders. Demonstrated leadership skills, effective communicator with clients and teams, and experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams. Familiarity with construction site safety practices and regulatory compliance; safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30) preferred. Professional certifications such as PMP, PE (Mechanical) or equivalent are desirable. Ability to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as required to meet project demands.
