Job Title:
Construction Project Manager Job Description The Construction Project Manager oversees assigned construction projects from initial concept through final closeout. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders and is accountable for planning, execution, financial performance, and overall delivery. The Construction Project Manager works closely with senior construction leadership and collaborates daily with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget. Responsibilities Lead assigned construction projects from concept through closeout, ensuring successful delivery of scope, schedule, and budget. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining clear, timely, and professional communication throughout the project lifecycle. Develop, manage, and update project plans, schedules, and milestones to keep projects on track and aligned with client expectations. Coordinate and oversee project activities with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work quality, productivity, and adherence to project requirements. Manage project financial performance, including budgets, estimates, cost tracking, and project P&L accountability. Review and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements, building practices, and applicable codes. Prepare, review, and process change orders, ensuring accurate documentation, pricing, and timely communication to all stakeholders. Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, issues, and conflicts, implementing effective solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Oversee project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and closeout materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with senior construction leadership on project strategy, resource planning, and issue resolution. Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional development. Ensure all project activities follow company standards, contractual obligations, and industry best practices. Support project closeout by coordinating inspections, punch lists, final documentation, and turnover to the client. Essential Skills 4+ years of construction experience, including at least 2+ years in a Project Manager role. Commercial or retail construction experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of construction documents, building practices, building codes, and construction contracts. Proven experience managing project budgets, estimates, cost tracking, and project P&L. Demonstrated project management skills in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities. Experience with change order preparation, review, and management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, stakeholders, and project teams. High level of organization with strong prioritization and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple fast‑paced projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel. Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience mentoring and developing team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience in commercial or retail construction environments. Familiarity with Procore construction management software preferred. Experience using Bluebeam for document review and markups preferred. Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. Comfort working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines. Work Environment The Construction Project Manager works in a collaborative, fast‑paced construction environment, interacting frequently with senior leadership, internal project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. The role requires regular use of project management and productivity tools, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and may involve working with platforms such as Procore and Bluebeam to manage documents, schedules, and project communication. Work typically involves a mix of office-based coordination and on-site project interaction, requiring flexibility to respond to project needs and timelines. The environment emphasizes professionalism, clear communication, and teamwork to deliver high-quality commercial and retail construction projects. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Shakopee, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00
