Job Description
Job Title Superintendent Job Type Full-Time Reports To Director of Operations Position Summary The Superintendent is responsible for the overall execution of assigned construction projects from Notice to Proceed through Final Completion. This position directs all field operations, coordinates labor, equipment, subcontractors, materials, schedules, quality, safety, and production to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and FlowMaster standards. The Superintendent serves as the field leader for the project and works closely with the Project Manager to maintain accurate production forecasts, labor performance, equipment utilization, cost control, WIP reporting, and client satisfaction. The Superintendent is expected to proactively identify risks, remove field constraints, continuously improve productivity, and utilize company technology systems to provide real-time operational visibility. Supervisory Responsibilities Direct supervision of Foremen Direct supervision of craft employees Coordinate subcontractors Coordinate equipment operators Coordinate trucking Coordinate material deliveries Assist in hiring field personnel (suggestions on skills/ # of /placement) Coach and mentor Foremen Conduct performance evaluations Recommend promotions and disciplinary actions Develop future field leaders Essential Duties & Responsibilities Project Execution Manage daily field operations for assigned projects Execute work according to project schedule Ensure work and materials complies with plans and specifications Coordinate all field crews Coordinate subcontractors Coordinate equipment assignments Maintain production targets Resolve and document all field issues immediately Ensure project milestones are achieved Minimize project delays Production Management Develop weekly production plans Conduct daily production meetings Monitor labor productivity Monitor equipment productivity Monitor quantities installed Compare actual production against budget Identify production bottlenecks Remove operational constraints Recommend process improvements Maintain daily production reports Schedule Management Maintain the project schedule Coordinate activities with the Project Manager Sequence work efficiently Schedule inspections Coordinate utility companies Coordinate owner representatives Coordinate material deliveries Manage weather impacts Develop recovery plans when behind schedule Safety Management Promote a Zero Incident culture Conduct daily Job Hazard Analyses Conduct weekly safety meetings Ensure OSHA compliance Enforce company safety policies Correct unsafe behaviors immediately Maintain required documentation Report accidents immediately Participate in accident investigations Maintain jobsite housekeeping Quality Control Verify work meets specifications Coordinate inspections Perform quality inspections Ensure proper testing Correct deficiencies immediately Minimize rework Maintain punch lists Ensure final project acceptance Cost Management Monitor labor costs Monitor equipment costs Monitor material usage Reduce waste Control overtime Identify potential cost overruns Communicate budget concerns immediately Assist Project Manager with Cost-to-Complete forecasting Technology & Reporting Utilize company technology including: QuickBooks Enterprise WorkForce (or company approved time tracking software) Microsoft Office Microsoft Teams Company project management software Responsible for Daily Reports Equipment Logs Labor Hours Material Tracking Production Reports Safety Documentation Quality Documentation Time Approval Daily Photographs Field Documentation Communication Serve as the primary field representative between: Owner Engineer Inspectors Project Manager Director of Operations Vendors Subcontractors Utility Companies Internal crews Maintain professional communication at all times.
