ETHOS Contracting Group, LLC Job Description:
Project Manager Ethos Contracting Group is a family-owned business in Starkville, MS, which provides quality General Contracting services. Ethos collaborates with Sub-Contractors and Vendors to provide all material, labor, equipment, and services required for commercial construction projects. We are responsible for hiring and managing specialized subcontractors to perform the work at each job site and are looking to hire a Project Manager to oversee the building process of various construction projects from start to finish. Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
A project manager is a top supervisory role at construction sites. Duties include building and staying within the budget, retrieving the necessary permits, and communicating the client's goals for certain projects to the subcontractors and construction workers. Construction Project Managers are responsible for the following:
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other workers on the same project
  • Hire Sub-Contractors and delegate their responsibilities
  • Responsible for any delays, emergencies, and problems that may arise
  • Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements
  • Report project progress and budget to client
  • Explain contract and technical matter to others in a clear manner
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates, along with construction schedules
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, etc., and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports Project manager
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • Assist in weekly coordination meetings, generate minutes, and distribute the minutes
  • Review monthly pay applications for work in place in conjunction with the project manager
  • Ensure that all required insurances, workers compensation, and certificates are met before work commences
Computer/Technology Requirements:
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers including iPad/tablet devices
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and related construction software
  • Basic knowledge of uploading and managing web-based document storage
