Your impact We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Construction Manager/Inspector who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running not just on time but within budget. We'll rely on you to provide support to our Troy, Michigan water team on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion as you bring fresh ideas to the table. You'll work alongside local leaders, subject matter experts, professional engineers, and designers, gaining exposure to water and wastewater infrastructure projects and so much more. The Construction Manager/Inspector is responsible for full-time, site-based surveillance and focused inspection of work on one or more significant water or wastewater and utility infrastructure projects. The individual monitors and documents construction work in progress, verifies conformance with construction drawings and specifications, and provides general coordination with various project stakeholders at the field level. The projects have varying locations throughout Southeast Michigan. The individual will be required to work at the project location daily.
Primary Responsibilities :
Monitor and document construction activity, equipment and manpower. Interpret construction documents, codes and technical submissions to verify conformance with contract and regulatory requirements. Verify conformance of materials and equipment with approved shop drawings/submittals. Coordinate construction interfaces with security and building operations daily. Assist the CM/PM in the documentation and resolution of field issues. Communicate with the CM/PM to keep them informed of project status and progress. Maintain awareness of clarifications and changes affecting work in progress Coordinate and oversee specialized testing and inspections. Prepare daily construction reports and maintain accurate records of tests and inspections. Monitor work performance and document variations from established schedules. Assist in the evaluation of change order proposals. Assist Office Engineer, as needed, in evaluating contractor payment requisitions. Monitor contractor work practices for conformance with site safety requirements. Here's what you'll need 5+ years of experience in construction/management/inspection for water/wastewater facilities and utility infrastructure projects. Knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements. Demonstrated highly effective written skills, timely documenting daily activities and reporting of site issues. Knowledge of MI Building Codes. Ability to read and interpret construction schedules. Able and willing to work flexible hours to support the Project needs. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Working knowledge of construction document management systems. Communication with multiple stakeholders, multiple sites and Subcontractors. Proven as excellent team player with exceptional interpersonal skills. Minimum of OSHA 10-hour Construction Training This is a full-time position on site that will be required to report to designated field offices Monday through Friday with additional days as required. The position will require Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. #LI-AD2Posted Salary Range:

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock. The base salary range for this position is $68,000.00 to $100,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
