Senior Project Manager / Project Executive
  • Preconstruction Charlotte, South Carolina $225,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits We're working with a highly respected General Contractor that has been delivering complex construction projects across the Southeast for more than 60 years.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they're looking to add an experienced Preconstruction Project Executive to their Charlotte team. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished preconstruction professional who enjoys influencing projects at the earliest stages while mentoring teams and driving strategic growth. You'll play a key role in shaping project pursuits, developing estimating strategies, leading preconstruction efforts, and supporting the continued development of the company's preconstruction function. The business delivers projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and multifamily sectors and is seeking someone capable of providing both technical expertise and leadership across a wide range of project types. As a Preconstruction Project Executive, you will: Lead the preconstruction process from initial concept through project handoff to operations Develop and oversee detailed conceptual budgets, estimates, cost plans, and pricing strategies Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to identify opportunities, risks, and cost impacts Guide value engineering initiatives to maximise project efficiency while maintaining quality and client objectives Provide leadership and mentorship to estimating and preconstruction team members Collaborate with operations, design teams, owners, and consultants to develop effective project delivery strategies Support business development pursuits by providing technical expertise during presentations, interviews, and client meetings Oversee quantity take-offs, subcontractor pricing exercises, and bid evaluations Assist in the development of project schedules, procurement plans, and logistics strategies Participate in constructability reviews and identify solutions to improve project outcomes Conduct site visits and project reviews to support planning and preconstruction activities Work closely with executive leadership to support the continued growth of the preconstruction department
What We're Looking For:
8+ years of experience in a senior estimating or preconstruction leadership role Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline Proven experience leading complex commercial construction estimates and preconstruction efforts Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, procurement, and project delivery Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation Experience managing large budgets and developing pricing strategies across multiple project types Strong leadership skills with a desire to mentor, develop, and grow preconstruction teams Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and executive leadership Experience with estimating software and scheduling platforms is highly desirable LEED accreditation, energy modelling experience, or advanced scheduling knowledge would be advantageous Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking abilities Interested?
