Lexington, NC Are you an experienced industrial electrical leader looking for your next challenge? Wiggins Incorporated is a leading nationwide electrical and networking contractor seeking a confident, organized, and team-oriented Industrial Electrical Superintendent to oversee the electrical construction of a wastewater treatment plant project in Lexington, North Carolina. This position is ideal for an individual with extensive industrial construction experience who can successfully manage field operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, maintain project schedules, and ensure quality workmanship from project startup through completion. SUMMARY The Industrial Electrical Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising all field electrical activities associated with large-scale industrial construction projects. This position will oversee electricians, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers while ensuring the project is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within scope.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and manage all electrical construction activities for a wastewater treatment facility project. Lead and coordinate field electricians, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company, customer, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements. Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and workflow to meet project milestones. Review and interpret electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and process drawings. Coordinate electrical installation of process equipment including pumps, motors, MCCs, VFDs, control panels, instrumentation, and related systems. Perform and oversee equipment layout based on electrical and mechanical drawings and submittals. Design and coordinate conduit routing and underground raceway installations. Track project materials, deliveries, and equipment to maintain schedule requirements. Maintain and update project red-line drawings. Conduct quality inspections and ensure work is installed correctly the first time. Attend project meetings and provide updates regarding schedule, manpower, productivity, and project challenges. Work closely with Project Managers to forecast labor needs, identify potential risks, and develop solutions. Mentor foremen, lead electricians, and field personnel. Coordinate with other trades to minimize conflicts and maintain project progress. Assist with project startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 10 years of electrical construction experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role. Extensive experience managing industrial electrical construction projects. Wastewater treatment plant, water treatment plant, manufacturing, processing facility, power generation, or similar heavy industrial experience strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret electrical, instrumentation, process, and mechanical construction drawings. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, MCCs, VFDs, motor controls, instrumentation, and process equipment. Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to effectively manage schedules, manpower, subcontractors, and project priorities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment. Willingness to travel as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Journeyman license or higher preferred. Experience on municipal wastewater treatment plant projects. Experience with electrical commissioning and startup activities. OSHA 30 Certification. CPR/First Aid Certification. Pay is dependent upon experience. Pre-employment screening process required.
