We install, inspect, and service fire protection systems across the region, and we're looking for a Job Site Manager who takes pride in doing the job right. About the Role Armor Fire Services is looking for a Job Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our installation job sites in the Central West North Carolina region. As Armor's representative on site, this person makes sure the work is progressing, being done right, and being done safely. This is a people-leadership and job-site management role. Fire protection experience is a strong plus but not required. We can teach you the industry. We're looking for someone who knows how to lead people, set expectations, solve problems, and keep a crew moving. Our field teams install and service fire protection systems, including fire sprinkler systems. The Job Site Manager will work alongside our experienced Foremen, crew leaders, and field employees to make sure the workday runs safely, efficiently, and professionally, and will be our day-to-day point of contact for the general contractor and other trades on site. If you're the person who naturally notices when someone isn't where they're supposed to be, makes sure the crew has what they need, keeps an eye on whether the work progress is on track, addresses issues proactively, and isn't afraid to hold people accountable, this may be the role for you. What You'll Do Serve as Armor's primary day-to-day representative and leader on the job site Make sure crews arrive on time and are present and ready to work Verify daily manpower on site against the project's staffing plan, and document it Help ensure crews stay on task and work is progressing according to expectations, the approved drawings, and the project schedule Walk the work daily and confirm installed work matches the approved shop drawings and Armor's standards (pipe routing, hangers and bracing, head placement, sleeves and penetrations), and flag anything that doesn't Coordinate and witness inspections and tests with Armor's licensed personnel and the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) Partner closely with the Foreman and crew leaders to support the successful completion of the work Serve as a communication link between the crews on site and company leadership Listen to employee concerns and help resolve day-to-day issues Be the voice of the field team when employees need assistance, clarification, or support Address attendance, performance, conduct, and other employee issues appropriately, and hold crew leaders accountable to the same standard Reinforce company policies, safety expectations, and job-site standards with everyone on the site Lead daily toolbox talks and job hazard analyses (JHAs), ensure PPE compliance, and report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly Coordinate site-specific safety orientation with the general contractor and participate in site safety walks Help create a professional, respectful, and accountable work environment Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for the general contractor's superintendent and other trades, attend site coordination meetings, and relay schedule changes, access requirements, and sequencing to the crew Track material deliveries, staging, and tools and equipment on site, and verify quantities received Communicate schedule changes, expectations, and important information to the crew Assist with onboarding and training new field employees, and orient new crews to Armor's job-site expectations Complete daily logs, progress photos, and manpower reports, and assist with job-site documentation, reports, schedules, and other administrative tasks Support the Project Manager with progress billing by confirming percent complete and manpower against what you observed on site Use Microsoft 365 products as well as ServiceTrade to complete, review, organize, and maintain job-related documentation Perform other duties necessary to support successful field operations What We're Looking For We're looking for a strong people leader who can tell whether the work is getting done, not necessarily someone with fire protection experience. You should be comfortable being present with the team, not managing from behind a desk The ability to read construction drawings, or the willingness to learn quickly OSHA 10 certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire (OSHA 30 is a plus) Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, enter, review, and maintain data Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat for reviewing, editing, completing, and organizing PDF documents Basic computer and smartphone skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work on-site every day and maintain regular field hours Professional appearance and demeanor A willingness to learn the fire protection trade Our licensed staff, experienced Foremen, and field employees will provide the technical expertise and will review the work with you. Your responsibility is to lead the people, support the Foreman, maintain accountability, verify the work is being done as planned, and help ensure the job site operates safely and effectively every day. If you do have fire protection experience, that's a real advantage, and we will support training toward industry credentials such as OSHA 30 and NICET certification as you grow. Experience in construction, manufacturing, facilities, logistics, military, or another field-based environment is strongly preferred. The Right Person Will...
