Project Executive / Operations Leadership Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for complex commercial construction projects in the Winston-Salem area. The Senior Superintendent will provide overall on-site leadership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all field activities, leading project teams and trade partners, maintaining strong relationships with owners and design teams, and proactively resolving issues that may impact project performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader with extensive commercial building experience and a proven ability to manage large, complex projects from preconstruction through closeout. Key Responsibilities Provide overall on-site leadership and direction for commercial construction projects. Lead, mentor, and develop project superintendents, assistant superintendents, field engineers, and other site personnel. Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager and project team. Coordinate and supervise all subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. Lead daily and weekly planning meetings, including subcontractor coordination and look-ahead scheduling. Maintain a strong and visible commitment to jobsite safety and ensure compliance with all company, client, OSHA, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety meetings, site inspections, and hazard assessments. Monitor project quality and ensure all work meets contract documents, specifications, and applicable codes. Identify potential schedule conflicts, constructability concerns, and field issues early and develop practical solutions. Coordinate closely with project management, owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders. Oversee site logistics, material deliveries, equipment utilization, temporary facilities, and overall jobsite organization. Review drawings and specifications and coordinate the resolution of field questions and discrepancies. Manage inspections, testing, commissioning activities, punch lists, and project closeout requirements. Provide accurate and timely field reporting, including progress updates, manpower tracking, schedule status, and issue documentation. Participate in preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, logistics planning, and development of project execution strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and project stakeholders. Promote a positive, accountable, team-oriented culture on every project. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and extensive field experience will be considered. Minimum of 10-15 years of commercial construction experience , including significant experience in a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent role. Proven experience managing large-scale and complex commercial construction projects. Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, building systems, sequencing, and trade coordination. Demonstrated success managing project schedules and coordinating multiple subcontractors and work activities. Thorough understanding of construction safety requirements and OSHA regulations. Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents. Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency with construction technology, scheduling tools, and project management software. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Willingness to travel regionally as required by project needs.
