Job Title:
Experienced Commercial Site Superintendent Job Description The Commercial Site Superintendent leads all field operations for commercial construction projects valued at $5 million and above. This role oversees day-to-day jobsite activities, schedule execution, subcontractor coordination, safety compliance, and quality control to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard of workmanship. The position suits a proven field leader with strong organizational skills, deep knowledge of commercial construction, and the ability to manage complex, multi-trade projects from ground-up through closeout. Responsibilities Manage all on-site construction activities for commercial projects exceeding $5 million, from mobilization through final turnover. Plan, coordinate, and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with the project management team. Supervise and direct subcontractors, labor forces, and vendors to ensure productivity, quality workmanship, and adherence to project plans. Enforce safety standards, construction safety protocols, site cleanliness, and company policies across the jobsite. Read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, as well as specifications, to ensure accurate field execution. Conduct daily site coordination meetings and toolbox talks to align trades, communicate priorities, and address issues. Coordinate required inspections and approvals with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors to keep the project on schedule. Identify potential field issues early, troubleshoot conflicts, and proactively resolve construction challenges. Oversee and manage punch lists, ensuring timely completion and high-quality workmanship during closeout. Support project closeout and turnover activities, including final inspections and documentation as needed. Monitor and manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment placement, and site access. Ensure that all construction activities align with project specifications, quality standards, and schedule milestones. Collaborate closely with project management on schedule updates, progress reporting, and issue escalation when necessary. Essential Skills Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Commercial Site Superintendent. Proven track record successfully running commercial construction projects valued at $5 million or more. Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and sequencing for ground-up and site construction. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple trades, subcontractors, and schedules simultaneously on complex projects. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications with a high degree of accuracy. Solid experience with construction management, site development, and general contractor operations. Proficiency in project coordination and schedule management for commercial construction. Experience supervising construction trades on mixed-use, multifamily, and other commercial construction projects. Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct field teams and foster a collaborative jobsite environment. Excellent communication skills for interacting with subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and inspectors. Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving field issues. Experience overseeing construction safety and applying construction supervision best practices. Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or similar platforms. Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA certification preferred. Experience with occupied facilities, renovations, or fast-track schedules is a plus. Background in commercial construction, including mixed-use and multifamily projects, is highly beneficial. Experience coordinating ground-up construction and site construction activities. Knowledge of quality control processes and standards in commercial construction. Ability to maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation, scheduling, and field coordination. Work Environment This is a full-time, first-shift role based on the jobsite, Monday through Friday. The superintendent works primarily in an active commercial construction environment, overseeing ground-up and renovation activities with multiple trades operating simultaneously. The role requires a consistent presence in the field to monitor work, enforce safety, and coordinate daily operations. The position involves regular interaction with project management, subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and inspectors, and relies on construction management tools and software such as Procore to track progress, documentation, and schedules. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Albany, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $135000.00/yr.- Health, dental, and vision insurance
