Job Description

Based in Newtown, CT, we are known for outstanding leadership and innovation in high-performance residential buildings, completing several new homes and renovations each year in western Connecticut and nearby counties in New York. Our staff has extensive training and years of experience applying sustainable building standards and technologies. Demand for our services has increased dramatically in the past several years, and we are hiring additional staff to support our growing operations. BPC needs a Site Supervisor to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations on the jobsites of new construction and renovation projects in the lower Hudson Valley. Our ideal candidate has some construction management experience or training, and a strong desire to help create a sustainable built environment through the use of high-performance building practices.

Preferred knowledge and skills include:
- 5-10 years of experience in residential construction or a related field
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards
- Basic framing and finish carpentry skills
- Ability to learn and use construction-related computer software and applications
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience managing subcontractors and delegating tasks
- Good problem-solving skills
- High standards of jobsite organization and cleanliness

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Site Supervisor is the point person on the jobsite, managing and directing all activity onsite to ensure efficiency and productivity. The Site Supervisor ensures that the project is executed in line with the agreed schedule and budget, and that standards of workmanship and quality are upheld at all times.The Site Supervisor shall:
- Understand the scope of the project in depth
- Maintain working knowledge of project management software and other technologies required for communication and tracking of project status
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintains consistent communication with all team members
- Coordinate with subcontractors to make sure they show up when needed, have the necessary on-site support, and are informed promptly of any schedule changes
- Prepare the jobsite for subcontractors
- Keep the jobsite stocked with required materials
- Implement temporary protection of materials, structure, and finishes as needed
- Maintain personal and jobsite safety at all times
- Ensure that the jobsite is clean at the end of the day and well-organized during the day
- Work with Project Manager to make sure special orders arrive on time and are installed properly
- Take initiative to solve project problems and maintain high standards; involve the Project Manager or Production Manager for additional support when needed
- Create mock-ups of materials and assemblies as needed
- Purchase miscellaneous supplies and materials needed onsite
- Adapt and prepare for changing site conditions and weather impacts
- Work with Project Manager and Production Manager to understand overall schedule, determine the schedule of site activity in the short term, and communicate clearly and in a timely fashion any anticipated delays
- Coordinate with Production Manager to schedule subcontractors efficiently across all ongoing projects
- Enter daily jobsite logs and photos into the project management software
- Schedule and oversee required building inspections
