NYC required supervisor certifications The Opportunity You will step into a pivotal field leadership role overseeing public sector construction projects from mobilization through final completion and closeout. As the Construction Superintendent, you will drive daily site operations, subcontractor coordination, safety, and quality to ensure full compliance with public agency requirements. This role empowers you to make a direct impact on high-visibility community projects within a collaborative, family-run company. How You Will Make an Impact Oversee daily field operations for public sector projects from initial mobilization through final completion and closeout. Manage subcontractors, field crews, and vendors to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to plans. Coordinate multi-trade scheduling, sequencing, inspections, and site logistics to prevent project delays. Conduct daily site walks and monitor workmanship to ensure strict compliance with quality standards and specifications. Enforce site-specific safety requirements to maintain compliance with OSHA and applicable government regulations. Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, manpower tracking, and safety records. Oversee project punch lists, inspections, and commissioning activities to guarantee successful project turnover. Required Qualifications & Experience Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent for a General Contractor or Commercial Construction firm. Demonstrated experience overseeing public sector, municipal, state, federal, or government-funded construction projects. Strong background managing commercial projects involving multiple subcontractors and trades. Thorough understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, quality control, and field safety. Strong working knowledge of concrete, structural steel, commercial framing, interior construction, and sitework. Experience overseeing excavation, grading, utilities, paving, drainage, and site development activities. Proficiency in reading architectural drawings, structural plans, engineering specifications, and schedules. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Experience managing public works, municipal, school, or transportation construction projects. Background working on union or prevailing-wage commercial construction projects. Familiarity with government documentation, public agency inspections, reporting, and closeout requirements. OSHA 30 certification or equivalent construction safety training. Experience with design-build delivery methods and complex commercial or institutional projects.
