Edge Development is a start-up Buffalo-based development and construction firm focused on innovative mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, multifamily communities, and custom residential projects across Western New York. Edge designs, develops, builds, and manages its own projects and serves as a commercial general contractor and residential construction expert for Buffalo-area homeowners, investors, and developers. Edge is an early-stage start-up organization with a small growing team, the experience to execute at a high level, and the runway to scale operations at a rapid pace. Construction is tough... but Edge makes it fun. The Construction Manager will serve as the critical catalyst to Edge's growth phase. The professional development and earning potential of this role scale directly with the company. This role will work directly with Edge leadership to run general contracting operations across multiple active multifamily and commercial projects, and will have a direct hand in how the company is built. The role requires someone who can perform in the field with a toolbelt on and execute critical administrative duties at the same standard. This is a ground-floor position with a company that intends to scale. As Edge grows, the Construction Manager will recruit, build, and lead field teams organized around specific scopes of work, expanding what we can accomplish with our own team. The Construction Manager will be responsible for team training, team safety, processes and protocols, and spearheading new areas of growth to move the organization forward.RESPONSIBILITIES
Run day-to-day construction operations to include scheduling, sequencing, quality control, and problem-solving across concurrent projects Drive performance from trade partners; hold schedules, verify quality and problem solve Research and implement new construction technologies and explore self-performance opportunities with associated logistical procurement Execute administrative tasks to including bidding, buyouts, take-offs, specifications, selections management, and vendor and supplier relationships Administer contracts and insurance on active projects Own site safety across all operations Recruit, train, and lead field personnel as we expand the team Apply AI and modern software to increase efficiency across estimating, scheduling and administration Manage a wide range of personnel from trade partners to in-house team members, to vendors, inspectors and lendersQUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience running commercial, multifamily, or residential construction Hands-on in the field; comfortable wearing a toolbelt and ditching the toolbelt for a conference room meeting Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and communcation Self-directed individual who takes ownership of problems without need for oversight Ability to pivot when things run off-track Motivated to grow into a director or executive level role and willing to earn it in the field first CDL and OSHA certifications a plus; Edge willing to facilitate training and certificationsCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS
