A Construction Project Manager supervises construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. Controls the time, cost and quality of construction projects, from residential, commercial and industrial buildings to roads, bridges and schools. Plans and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects and vendors.

Job Description

Primary Focus:
Provides lead Project and Operations Management services for Construction Business Unit. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of all field personnel. Manages projects as directed by Business Unit Manager. Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following: Project Management Responsible for the execution of the assigned projects. This is to include management of materials needed, sub-contractors, invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Visit job sites periodically Responsible for negotiating change orders to the contract. Generating out-of-contract work and processing change orders with the clients and vendors to ensure that all appropriate documentation is maintained in an acceptable format. Communicates all change orders in writing. Manages all job cost reports and updates weekly (at a minimum) Maintains accurate project files, with vital information regarding the site/project. Attend and contribute at production meetings. Leads by example to guide personnel by motivating and inspiring your team. Creates positive morale and working culture. General office organization and file management Participates in post construction meetings Oversee pre-construction meetings w/crew chief and estimator. Mandatory participation in formal Project Transfer meetings w/estimating. Obtains (3) prices of subcontractors or any material over $5,000 Makes certain all subcontractors over $5,000 have an MES Sub agreement Prepares for obtaining credit for vendors prior to job starting. Supports collection efforts as needed. Overall profitability of projects managed over the past year. Profitability Delivers budgets GP on assigned projects. Makes certain Construction buy out team obtain (3) prices for subcontractors or materials over $5,000. And you finalize negotiations prior to starting. Make certain MES sub agreements executed.
