Full-Time About the Opportunity A well-established New York general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join its growing team. The company delivers complex commercial, transit, institutional, infrastructure, and public-sector construction projects throughout Long Island and New York City. The Superintendent will be responsible for leading day-to-day field operations from project startup through completion, coordinating subcontractors and trades, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with contract documents and quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field construction professional looking to join an established GC with a strong pipeline of challenging projects. Responsibilities Manage daily on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion

Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, deliveries, and field personnel

Maintain project schedules and proactively address issues that could impact milestones or completion dates

Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents to ensure field compliance

Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship and quality

Enforce site safety requirements and maintain a safe, organized jobsite

Coordinate closely with Project Managers, engineers, architects, owners, and subcontractors

Lead subcontractor meetings and communicate short-term scheduling and manpower requirements

Identify field conflicts and work with the project team to develop practical solutions

Track daily progress, manpower, deliveries, inspections, and significant jobsite activities

Coordinate required inspections, punch-list activities, closeout, and turnover

Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to established quality standards Qualifications Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Project Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role

Experience working for a general contractor strongly preferred

Background managing commercial, transit, institutional, infrastructure, public works, or other complex construction projects

Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, sequencing, and field operations

Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously

Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and jobsite quality control

Ability to manage schedules, priorities, and changing field conditions

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

OSHA certification preferred
