About the
University:
Manhattan University is nestled in the historic neighborhood or Riverdale , close to dozens of restaurants and shops as well as Van Cortlandt Park , and is only 35 minutes from midtown Manhattan. Manhattan University is nationally ranked and offers degree programs in the arts, business, education, engineering, and science. The University has approximately 3,000 full and part-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in over 50 fields of study. Position Description The Residential Summer Program gives high school students an immersive introduction to academic and professional fields. The program coordinator supports students and staff with daily activities. Responsibilities include assisting with instructional and recreational sessions, organizing and off-campus activities, supporting meal coordination and program logistics, and leading structured daytime and nighttime events. Coordinators also ensure student safety through supervision of travel, dorm oversight with summer counselors, and enforcement of program guidelines. Job Responsibilities Supervise high school students (minors) and ensure a safe, positive residential environment Live and stay on campus during the program to support students and daily operations Coordinate students' breakfast, lunch and dinner with counselors each day Travel off campus with students for planned NYC activities, excursions, and events Plan and organize NYC off-campus activities, ensuring timely return to campus for dinner and evening programming Create and lead engaging on-campus daytime activities as an alternative to off-campus trips (games, workshops, team-building, recreational activities) Create and facilitate nighttime activities after dinner (movie nights, board games, structured social programming, etc.) Coordinate with counselors to ensure students are in their assigned rooms each night and maintain accountability in collaboration with summer counselors to ensure dorm policies are followed Complete office and administrative tasks (record keeping, photocopying, phone calls, and email communication) Work collaboratively with, counselors, and program directors Maintain strong communication with the program director, counselors, students, and families Other duties as assigned by the Program Director Requirements Staff are expected to be available to work all program days with additional evening responsibilities as needed Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a higher education institution Must reside in campus housing to support students in residence Available to work the following dates: Sunday, August 2nd through Saturday, August 8th (must be available for all program days assigned) Able and willing to work with high school students (minors) in a residential setting Must be 21 or over
Supplemental Information Compensation:
