In this role, you will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for complex construction projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule. Your expertise will drive the bidding process, foster strong client relationships through precise pricing strategies, and support the overall success of our construction initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence project outcomes through strategic estimation and effective team leadership. Responsibilities Lead the preparation of comprehensive MEP cost estimates by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop detailed and accurate cost proposals. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and technical requirements. Conduct thorough quantity take-offs, pricing analysis, and value engineering to optimize project budgets. Manage bid submissions, negotiate contract terms with clients and subcontractors, and ensure competitive yet profitable proposals. Oversee the review of contracts to confirm scope clarity, risk mitigation, and compliance with company standards. Monitor project costs during execution to ensure adherence to budgets through effective cost control measures. Provide mentorship to estimating team members, fostering continuous improvement in estimating techniques and industry knowledge. Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to gather competitive pricing and reliable service options. Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that inform scheduling and resource planning. Skills Extensive experience in construction estimating with a focus on MEP systems across diverse project types. ($20MM++) Proficiency in Bluebeam for digital markup and document management; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is essential. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing terms with subcontractors and vendors. Deep understanding of construction site operations, safety standards, and construction management principles. Knowledge of contracts law, scope development, change order processes, and risk management strategies. Excellent project management abilities with a focus on cost control and budget adherence throughout project lifecycles. Effective communication skills to coordinate across teams, present estimates clearly, and negotiate effectively.
Pay:
$125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
