Our commitment to quality and safety sets a high standard for construction practices. This position is for Unit Manager of the Facilities Construction Engineering (FCE) unit. This unit is specifically responsible for providing in field oversight of subcontractors executing both investment and operating funded construction projects. FCE plays a vital role in maintaining progress and resolving challenges that arise during construction, ensuring projects meet our technical and schedule requirements. This position is demanding and rewarding, supporting a talented professional workforce that is highly engaged in all phases of construction. The selected candidate will be expected to foster an environment of teaming across multiple organizations, promote learning and teaching, and actively support schedule adherence, technical rigor, and safe work practices to ensure efficient project execution. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for motivating team members and facilitating cross-functional collaboration. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills Previous facilities construction experience

Past experience leading large teams with a focus on individual contributor development through teaching/coaching

Strong understanding of the NNL Subcontractor Safety Requirements Model

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Previously qualified STR and/or SCWA

Demonstrated track record for developing and growing positive relationships with line, compliance and subcontractors

$129,300.00 - $206,100.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
