Job Purpose:
The Director of Installation is responsible for the end-to-end execution of all installation activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to Hy?

Tek quality standards. This role provides leadership across field installation teams, subcontractors, and internal partners to translate sold scope into successful, repeatable customer outcomes. The Director of Installation serves as the primary operational owner of installation performance, and coordinates Project Engineering, Project Management, and Safety for installation projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Installation Execution & Delivery Own execution of all installation scopes from mobilization through mechanical completion and turnover Ensure installation activities align with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules Drive consistent use of installation SOPs, workflows, and field standards across all projects Resolve field execution issues related to labor, materials, sequencing, and constructability Serve as escalation point for customer-facing installation challenges Leadership & Team Management Provide direct leadership to the Installation management team and field leadership Set clear expectations for performance, safety, quality, and communication Coach and develop installation leadership bench strength Participate in recurring management, project review, and cross-functional cadence meetings Safety, Quality & Compliance Ensure all installation activities comply with company safety programs, OSHA requirements, and customer site rules Partner with Safety to drive incident prevention, training, and corrective actions Enforce installation quality standards and punch-list discipline through closeout Financial & Resource Management Manage installation labor planning, manpower loading, and subcontractor utilization Own installation cost performance, including labor productivity, rework, and change orders Partner with Sourcing and Operations on subcontractor strategy and performance Support forecasting and variance analysis related to installation execution Cross?

Functional Collaboration Partner with Project Engineering to improve install ability and reduce field risk Collaborate with Project Management on schedules, sequencing, and customer communication Interface with Commissioning and Implementation teams to ensure smooth system turnover Support Sales as needed with installation approach, risk input, and lessons learned Present a professional image to clients and partners Perform other duties as may be assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred 10+ years of experience in installation, field operations, or construction leadership in the Material Handling Industry Prior experience managing large-scale, multi-site installation projects Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical installation in material handling systems Proven ability to lead field-based teams in dynamic construction environments High proficiency in coordinating subcontractors and site logistics Ability to operate independently and make sound decisions under pressure Strong communication skills with customers, internal teams, and executive leadership
Working Conditions:
Ability to travel up to 25% or as needed based on business needs. Working in office, remote or supplier/client facilities. Working in a stationary position for an extended period. Moving or traversing for an extended period. Occasional climbing on steps, scaffolding and/or mezzanines. Operating computers for an extended period.
