Director of Construction Operations - Onsite#26-09383 Akron, OH Onsite Direct Placement Starts 9/14/2026 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking a Director of Construction Operations for a direct hire, onsite position with a National Construction Firm located in Akron, OH.
Salary Range:
$150,000 - $250,000 per year, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Construction Operations to providepanywide leadership for project management and field operations, with a direct track to a Vice President role. This opportunity is designed for a successful Project Executive from a sophisticated general contractor or construction manager who is ready to move beyond oversight of an individual project portfolio and take on broader organizational leadership. Reporting directly to the President, the Director will be accountable for project performance, operational consistency, talent development, risk management, and alignment between project management and field operations. This role is based out of the Fairlawn, OH headquarters, but requires travel to assigned job sites in the NE Ohio region as needed, in addition to potential out-of-state travel of 10-20%.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadpanywide project management and field operations Monitor project financial performance, schedules, staffing, risk, quality, safety, and client satisfaction Identify at-risk projects early and lead practical recovery efforts Coach and develop project executives, project managers, and the General Superintendent Improve collaboration and accountability between office and field teams Strengthen project forecasting, change management, contract administration, procurement, and closeout Support the General Superintendent with field staffing, succession planning, performance management, and superintendent development Build scalable operating practices that support continued growth without creating unnecessary bureaucracy Develop strong relationships with key clients, design partners, and trade partners
Primary Requirements:
At least 15+ years of progressivemercial construction experience A record of successfully leading multipleplex projects and project teams Strong financial, contractual, scheduling, and risk-management expertise Experience working closely with superintendents and senior field leaders Proven ability to coach, develop, and hold experienced professionals accountable The judgment to know when to delegate, coach, or intervene directly The desire and capability to grow into a broader executive operations role Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
