A Construction Project Manager supervises construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. Controls the time, cost and quality of construction projects, from residential, commercial and industrial buildings to roads, bridges and schools. Plans and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects and vendors.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing residential and multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through homeowner occupancy. This role provides leadership for project schedules, budgets, trade partner performance, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction while serving as a key member of the company's operational leadership team. The ideal candidate combines strong field construction knowledge with the ability to implement systems, improve processes, and lead multiple projects simultaneously in a growing organization. Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of residential construction from permit approval through final closing. Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules. Coordinate and oversee trade partners, suppliers, and consultants. Monitor project budgets and identify cost-control opportunities. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to plans and specifications. Collaborate with sales, purchasing, design, and warranty teams to ensure smooth project execution. Resolve field issues, design conflicts, and schedule disruptions quickly and effectively. Lead construction meetings and provide project status updates to company leadership. Ensure compliance with local building codes, inspections, and permitting requirements. Support homeowner communications during the construction process when necessary. Growth Responsibilities The Senior Project Manager will: Help develop scalable project management and field operations systems. Establish and track operational KPIs for schedule performance, quality, trade partner performance, and customer satisfaction. Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring Project Managers and Superintendents. Lead construction operations on larger multifamily and mixed-use projects. Improve construction workflows and standard operating procedures. Support strategic planning related to production growth and operational capacity. Proven experience managing multiple active construction projects simultaneously. Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and project controls. Experience coordinating subcontractors and vendors. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Northeast Ohio. Preferred Qualifications Experience with production homebuilding. Experience managing multifamily construction projects. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Experience implementing operational processes and construction systems. Familiarity with Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, or similar project management platforms.
